Day two of Snickers being held captive by the nasty dang cold that's left him sweating, blowing his nose every hour om the hour and super grumpy. Day two for him with a cold means day two of me managing the club by myself and having to train everyone... by myself. I manage the club on Fridays but Fridays are Free Train Days, yesterday and today were not.
I showed up for work early, ready to take on the pesky parkers but with members waiting extra early outside our Hulk doors and pesky parkers texting me back, asking random questions from business hours to monthly registration fee, there surely was no easing into the work day. In addition to a busy start in my day, a man visited Hulk's, asking for me to let him into the above third floor of our building. The other doors are located and access to the other floors is only via Hulk's. I had really no idea what he was going on and on about, was more preoccupied with getting back to the ten Hulkies waiting for me to do padwork with them, but it was pretty cool and encouraging to have another business interested in potentially occupying our building. More businesses around our business means possibly more business -- it's a win-win.
At the busiest hour of my work day, I was juggling training 15 members on my own. No sooner did I finish padwork with one but then I had to make up a weight training circuit on the spot for other, take the tricep dip count for two doing round two of this month's challenge, weigh in a new member, and then give a guest a tour of the club.
A extra cup of coffee in the morning and my premade meals all nicely organized in my little Tupperware was what saved me from missing out in any of my meals and staying energized. Food is fuel and this Polack was kept fully fueled and ready to take on and take down anything that came my way. Even a pesky parker thinking it cute to repetitively message me and ask me questions definitely not parking-related didn't drag me down. I went full force all day and even managed to get 120 release push-ups, 64 more than scheduled for my daily goal.
Today's Fuel of Choice:
MEAL ONE: Protein-packed Pancake (at home)5 eggs, 3/4 cup of oatmeal, 1 banana, five strawberries (stushed on top for "jam")
MEAL TWO: Plain Greek yogurt with celery sticks for dipping/spoon (at home)
MEAL THREE: Simple Spinach Shake and 3 hard boiled eggsIn my shake I had 2 cups of spinach, a banana, some strawberries and pineapple.
MEAL FOUR: Three chicken balls1 Chicken breast mixed with sweet potato, onions, garlic, spinach, and random herbs
MEAL FIVE: Rotisserie chicken with broccoli, brown rice and balsamic vinegar (for dressing)
MEAL SIX: three Eggtastic Egg Muffins3 egg whites mixed with chicken, broccoli and some seasoning
I ended the full, jam-packed work day with a surprise pick-up from Snickers and together we drove some of our late night members home. I had survived the day. It was surely a busy one and I wouldn't exactly like to juggle it alone by myself everyday but once in awhile it's surely nice to totally run the place and be responsible for everyone's training. Don't get me wrong though, it was exhausting. I'm now almost out of food, needing a bit of a rest and recovery from all that padwork, and so I'm hoping on getting my much-anticipated day off on Wednesday. I didn't do my long run this week and am not resuming running until Wednesday on account that I've been juggling managing the club and the house and taking on the duties of looking after our 3 four-legged beauties while Snickers has been sick. So here's to hoping I can refuel on Wednesday!
