Okay, so I'm going to tell you a sweet story that's going to leave you feeling all mushy-gushy and wanting to disregard my husband's whole punching buses, bad boy side... bwhahaha... But first, a bit of background to set the scene.
I have a half marathon coming up, in about two weeks, but for the past few weeks I haven't been at par with where I should be regarding my running. I don't have a particular goal or any goal for that matter besides just finishing this half marathon. My main sponsor Wow Motors isn't doing the half, nor is my good friend Mouse Doctor or my former teammate Black Skinny -- they are all doing the 10km. So there will be no Wow President yelling at me and pushing me through the half, no teammate or close friend for me to try to beat or keep up with. I do, however, have two fierce females from Hulk's doing the half with me -- one who this will be her first half ever and another who has done several full marathons in the past -- so they're motivating to me. But in terms of goals, I am not nearly as focused or goal-driven for this half as I was for all my previous races. Basically any time met and any potential placing scored will be pure bonus at this point.
Having said this, and having rambled on too much about it already, today I headed out for a run. I had mentioned to Snickers that it'd be a hard one and probably a very uncomfortable one but it was a needed one; he agreed. So I set out, destination Dankook lake, mission run 8km. I wanted to head back home after the first lap because I felt I wasn't mentally motivated enough to push myself harder but I continued. "Hard time now, easy time later, I told myself... and you know I literally did tell myself. I am all about the power of positive affirmations! Anyway, so I went to do another lap and, low and behold, what should I see as I came up to the lap start line marked on the path but a big guy shadow boxing up ahead, right in the middle of the path. Instantly I recognized his shorts as being that of Snickers'. I screamed, bolted towards him and then jumped into his arms. He swung me around and I honestly thought I could cry. His totally random show-up was such an amazing pick-me-upper and it totally re-energized me for the next lap.
Around the lake my little Polish legs propelled me; I felt like the Polish Roadrunner. And as I headed back to the lap start line, I spotted Snickers but on the bridge, past where he was standing before. He had been watching me run from the bridge and was waiting for me to pass him. Again I ran up to him, did the whole jump into his arms and hug reenactment but this time he planted a big wet kiss on me -- fuel for another lap.
I was like a little giddy school girl running around that lake, so smiley and full of energy. And every time I looked back at him, he'd start waving his arms in the air -- so dang cute!!! I never expected him to come surprise me, he had a couple of morning meetings, but as soon as he got me text telling him I was heading out for the run we had talked about in the early morning he rearranged his meetings.
Him surprising me during my run was actually just the starting surprise of many surprises he had up his sleeve for me today. He had the day off today but was scheduled to come do padwork from 7-9pm. He showed up super early for that -- three hours early actually. He stayed the whole day with me at Hulk's, sparred with one of our Hulkies, and then surprised me with movie tickets to go see Captain America: The Winter Soldier at the late night showing -- 12:45am. We haven't gone to the movies since... gosh, I don't know when. I think the last movie I saw in the theatre was for the second Thor. It's been a very successful week however and so he thought it ok to treat us to tickets. You have to treat yourself every now and then and tonight was our 'now'.
What an awesome guy... and now you know why after only 7 months of dating him I married him.

"A dime a dozen" means the EXACT opposite of what you think it means. Basically, it means he's so cheap/common/ordinary, you can get many like him for just a dime. Might pay off to actually research an idiom before you use it...
Hi Anonymous,
Hahaha... thanks:) Hence why I had wrote "I never did understand what that meant". Ya, he surely is NOT a dime a dozen then. Ended up going back and totally chopping out that entire sentence ;)
Silly idioms. I may have been using English since I was in elementary school but, as the Koreans say, 원숭이도 나무에서 떨어진다...;)
