As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Packed Weekend of Slaving Away Meant a Monday of Excitement

After going to bed in the early morning and then waking up only a handful of hours later, I had promised myself that if I worked hard then I'd give myself a 5 minute break at 10:30am.
And that's exactly what I did.  Made a cup of hot double espresso, kicked up my dirty heels and sat on the office couch watching my half naked gorgeous husband work.
Our new locker room and change room, not totally finished but almost there.
Still awaiting another shelf unit to arrive and planning to refinish the locker doors.
Our guys-only shower room -- newly painted shelf and an accordion door, because not everyone wants to see the peek-a-boo scenes that accidentally get played out here.
Our glove room got some newly painted shelves, you're welcome for that, but this room still has some renovations to be made.  Those nasty smelly shoes from members past are gone but soon we'll be making a shoe shelf in here for current members.
I think the most noticeable difference is the weight training area.  We weren't able to make it into a cardio-only area because of the low ceiling and the inclining treadmills but we did add some extra kettle bells, extra medicine balls, new yoga mats, and a good dose of Hulk green paint.
Many of our members that train earlier in the day do so so that they can have a more one-to-one training experience with us.  Here is us with our early training members, fiddling around with the rowing machine and just having a good time before the hard training.
And talk about hard training!!!
Two of our early training Hulkies are two guys who just recently took up boxing but are already so eager to step into the ring to spar.  Today we let them spar and they loved it.
And speaking of loving it, these two Hulkies were loving the rowing machines!!!
There were having a little friendly competition.

... I had a little friendly competition too, with one of my mini Hulkies.
And in unrelated news, unless you're talking about someone loving something, Pyen Chi got a shower today.  She was loving the attention with Snickers getting in the shower with her but Snickers definitely wasn't loving having to blow dry this beast of a woman after ward.
Time to shower Pyen Chi, about 20 minutes.
Time to blow dry Pyen Chi, about an hour!!!
