As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Row, Row, Row Your Calories Away... Monday, June 23

With just minutes before we'd be opening the large Hulk's doors for members, we managed to clean up and conclude the renovations.  This isn't to say the renovations are done, gosh no, Far from that actually as there is always something to do.

It was nice to surprise members with the new additions and changes but it was especially nice to share them with the two male members who had helped me carrying in the rowing machines on Friday.  I had talked to them last Friday about all the changes we'd be doing and had mentioned we'd be closing the club next Friday for renos and then revealing all the changes the following Monday.  They happened to be the first members to arrive today, actually they're usually always the first members to arrive.

The two rowing machines were a hit with so many of our Hulkies and purchasing two proved to be the best idea yet.  Having two rowing machines meant I was able to pose challenges to various Hulkies and have them do distance/time challenges.  The most popular challenge of the day was to have two members do the same rowing racing course and to see how far they could go in the limited time of 10 minutes.  I posed a total of 5 of these challenges today and it was a lot of fun.  The idea of it being exercise was totally thrown out the window and instead members focused more so on kicking-their-friend's-butt part of it and really had a lot of fun.  I suspected the rowing machines to be quite popular today, especially because they're so new to our members, but they proved to be the hot exercise to do today!!!
