As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Week Early with Renos

Treadmills arrived today and we had such a difficult trying to situate them at Hulk's.
Originally we wanted to convert the weight training area into a cardio machine area but with the ceiling being low there and the machines having an incline option, it just wouldn't work.
It was a big ordeal and ended up being little old me against 3 Korean men.  We settled on the back corner but I have a feeling they're not going to stay there.
This wasn't the original idea, to have the rowing machines here but who cares.
WE'VE GOT ROWING MACHINES!!!
Snickers had his set of repairs and renovations to do, the floor being still on his list to do.
My biggest task for this weekend is painting.
I have to paint the weight training area, glove room, mens-only shower room, and the door in the locker room.  Tonight I only go the weight are and glove room done... well, layer one done that is.
Balboa totally tried to photo bomb my pic here... hahaha.
Layer one of... umm... hoping for two but thinking maybe three.  I'm such an amateur painter, yikes.
This our glove room.  Not cleaning up the glove room meant dealing with all the former members shoes, all SEVEN GARBAGE BAGS worth!!!  Tonight the shelves got sanded and then painted a layer.  This week we'll be installing a shoe shelf here for CURRENT member shoes.
This was the scene around 2am.  Snickers was still slaving away at the floor.
And I was "testing" it out.
OK, so I took a nap, sue me.  I slept for about 20 minutes and then when Snickers went to bed I stayed up and painted more.  I vouch the nap was a much needed one, those paint fumes are rude and crude.
Ended up going to bed at 5:30am and only because the layer wasn't dry enough for me to continue.
