As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

An Overdose of Mini-Koreans, Hard Training and Strong Coffee

When I asked Snickers to make sure he had ordered my coffee online, he went a bit overboard with making sure I never get on his case about it again -- 150 capsules of coffee for my machine were delivered today!!!  Honestly I don't drink so much coffee, I keep it to my morning cup and the occassional early evening pick-me-upper cup, but WOW loves my coffee and I love WOW so he often has a cup with me.
And speaking of WOW, this is his son... he's known on my homepage as Kato.
Tomorrow he'll be participating in his first ever amateur fight so today we trained him extra hard.
After his warm-up (skipping and shadow boxing), Snickers then did padwork with him and then sparring.
After his sparring, he then did sandbag work, MORE padwork and MORE sandbag work.
WOW is always quick to join in on the sparring action but when he asked a member who was clearly uncomfortable being asked to spar (because he has only sparred once before), I told Snickers to gear up again for more sparring.
Nothing says "thanks for all your help" quite like punching each other, right?!  Hahaha.  As for who was thanking who for help, maybe WOW was saying thank you to Snickers for making him such a fierce competitor in the ring or maybe it was Snickers thanking WOW for believing in him as a coach and entrepreneur.  This is our kind of tough love!
Bromance at it's finest... hahaha.  No, they're not hugging.  WOW is clinching Snickers, hoping it'd stop Snickers from getting in some mean upper cuts on him.
Was flooded by mini-Hulkies today, both official and non-official Hulkies that is, so one of the activities was a game of 3-on-3 soccer.
Our soccer game got a bit wild, with the ball being kicked ALL over the place, like the boys-only shower room, Crossfit area, and even behind the juice bar... hahaha.
And this is how I ended my work day, with a visit from my favourite nephew, Hyun Jun.
He's getting to be such a big boy and, though my camera angle here doesn't show you his hair, his new hair cut makes him look like quite the handsome little man.
