As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Sources of Energy

Only two of the four of these high school guys that always train together showed up today at Hulk's, the other two are studying for their exams.  But with their two missing mates, their energy levels were at an all time low... so I bribed them to train hard. One chocolate cookie protein bar and a sports drink was all it took to get these guys training in high gear.  Good job Hulkies.
I'd like to think my crossfit circuit classes always have extra loads of energy but today they really did.  This class of eight turned into a class of ten when two other Hulkies suddenly joined.  I think I did 6 or 7 crossfit classes, with the smallest class being that of 4 and the biggest being that of 13.

And no matter what they say about how hard we push them at training, we know they love it.  If they didn't, well, they wouldn't come back or, as in the case tonight, literally give me the shirt off their back.  "Check your swag" is apparently our new found favourite thing to say with these guys and I know we're totally using it the wrong way but perhaps that's why we love yelling it at each other.
