THE GOOD
- Holy silence and by that I mean when I go to bed at night all I hear is the humming of the fridge.
- No more "oh I forgot that at home" moments like when I used to forget my lunches or extra socks.
- No travel time. When work finishes I can just lock the doors, turn off the lights and go to bed.
- I can keep a close eye on my four-legged beauties at all times and most members, unless we've shown them the pup's corridor, have no idea they're even here.
- Friends visit more and visiting friends always have a place to park.
- It's pretty cool to be able to give my four-legged friends an indoor/outdoor living space.
- Bathroom breaks for my pups has never been so easy. I simply unlock their gate and let them run across the road to the abandoned lot to let them do their thing. After locking the gate, I then go and clean up after them. Super easy.
- My four-legged friends have one massive playground to run around in during closed hours.
- My commitment and focus on maintaining the building we're in just got all that more amplified so we're working hard to keep things maintained and repaired as quick as possible.
- I watch a lot less TV on my down time because the club's TV is uncomfortably big to watch.
- Us living here means the lights are on more. Conveniently enough, this has drastically lowered the amount of pesky parkers we have to deal with at the start of the work day because they think we open much earlier than we actually do.
- Snickers feels more inclined to help keep the place clean, both the main club and our personal living area, so that's nice to have extra help without having to ask him.
- Holy excessive area to hang up the laundry to dry -- laundry is hung on the boxing ring ropes.
- Instant mellow mood setting for after work relaxation with the halo light above the ring and green side lights.
- Many of my neighbours here are my members.
- Often my morning outdoor play time with my four-legged friends is always accompanied by Hulkies saying hi to us as they head off to school so it's quite a sweet way to start the day.
- Having 3 four-legged friends living here with us has proven to be quite the effective security system. During our off time, no one enters unnoticed without them causing a commotion and it also means we can leave the back door open to add some ventilation without being worried.
- I most randomly break out into exercise, like today when I was waiting for my Tassimo coffee machine. I wanted to see how many squats I could do before it made one cup of coffee -- 32 squats.
- Surround sound for my music is a-w-e-s-o-m-e!!!
THE BAD
- With the bedroom being a inner room within the building, I can't hear the rain when it rains.
- A lot of people walking by the club window think it's ok to get my pups all worked up by tapping on the window or trying to take pictures when they see my pups. I'm constantly struggling between the desire to seriously tell them off and the fact that I have to stay professional because I am at my place of work and am the face of my company.
- High school boys get the pups all worked up on their way to school and continually insist on coming up close to the front door. This means almost every morning at 8am I have to wake up and tell them to get off my club steps, then try to calm Pyen, Bal and Pac down.
- Because our shower is a public one for all, I have to resort to using a bath house basket for my items so I can never simply jump in the shower. I have to get my basket first and lay it out.
- It used to be only the male members who'd ask to borrow Snickers' training clothes but now that members know we live here, I get a lot of female members asking to borrow random things from me, like clothes and beauty products.
- Almost impossible now to separate business from pleasure so instead of simply relaxing in my private book nook, I find myself organizing the club gloves or restocking the juice fridge at random times.
- My day off (Wednesday) is usually spent at home but with the club being my now home this poses a problem. Last week was my first day off since the move and it lasted about two hours before I scrapped the idea of time off and got back to work because Snickers needed my help and I felt too distracted by checking out which members had come and what they were doing.
- I miss sprawling out on our over sized couch to watch whatever is on TV and I miss our Friday night sleepover parties on the floor.
THE UGLY
- Always have to lock the front doors when we aren't open because random people will and do walk in, assuming we are open and then they don't exactly leave so easily. This has meant I've had to give club tours at random hours when I'm sporting even more random clothing, questionable clothing that is, and equally questionable hair.
- Countless people (NOT members) have suggested we open up for morning training since we're already here, as if giving up my apartment meant I also was willing to give up my free time and personal life.
- Moving in with three dogs just added an extra hour of intense cleaning before we open every single day because we're very conscious about making sure it's not evident that three pups live here.
