As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Birthday Big Enough for the Big Green Guy

With yesterday being Hulk's first birthday, today we decked out the club and celebrated it with our Hulkies.
We had the front decorated with balloons and a banner.
The juice bar had a special banner I had made with member's photos (see below picture...below, below)
and I had prepared the Hulk Smash box game and the Ultimate Smash prize for our grand draw tonight.
HULK SMASH GAME:
For every member who comes today, they get to pick one small box among the box of many boxes.
They then take the hulk hand and hulk smash the box to smitherines.  If their smashed box has a picture of either Hulk's face or the face of Thundra, then they get to pick a prize box.
There were 6 winning boxes and members had a ton of fun participating.
A special visitor came by our way today, Belfort.  I haven't seen her around lately.  She only occassionaly stops by but when she does it's always perfect timing.
I was having a rough morning today on account of the fact that a certain someone wasn't showing much excitement at all over our special day.  He's not really into holidays and sometimes that's hard to handle so Belfort showing up to let me hug her, as dirty as she may have been, totally lifted my spirit.
For our party, I totally loaded our juice bar to the brim with veggies and fruit.  We had an overdose of healthy eats for the overdose of fabulous people at our party and boy did they gobble up our lean, mean green goodies!!!
Ok, so it wasn't all healthy.  We did have a tin of cookies and 70 super delish, super chocolately hulk cupcakes that definitely needed you to use your free hand for a cup of milk or juice to help wash down the deliciousness!!!
I didn't make the cupcakes, my talented inspiring baker friend did but I did spend a solid hour and a half making hulk smash hands to have coming out the tops.  As for my Hulkies, they helped too, they helped wolf these bad boy cupcakes done... and tomorrow Snickers and I will help them work them off.
During our party we held the draw for our Ultimate Smash Prize.
We had one of my mini Hulkies pick a name and low and behold who should win but one of our other mini Hulkies.  Horray for my mini Hulkie!!!  The box of goodies he won weigh just as much as him... hahaha.
We scored some unexpected gifts from numerous Hulkies.
Two gifts that I really stood out was a very expensive bottle of wine from a Hulkie who I've been really trying hard to keep motivated and an adorable homemade card from another Hulkie.
And of course I scored a lot of HULKTASTIC hugs from my mini Hulkies -- they're the best!!!
Positive vibes, encouraging words of congrats and lots of smiles were given to us in excess from all present.

And it was pretty cool to be celebrating Hulk's very first birthday with many friends and members whom have been here before Hulk's even existed.
It was a booming club party tonight at Hulk's.
Thank you to everyone who attended and to those who couldn't but sent their warm wishes, much appreciated.  Hulk's my be the business of Snickers and I but it takes a club worth of positive members, proud supporters, faithful sponsors, and supportive friends and family to make it the fabulous place that it is.
