As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Pushed by the Rumbles of my Tummy... Thursday, November 20

I am so motivated by food, so motivated it's ridiculous.

You remember that picture I posted yesterday of that protein packed pumpkins oatmeal bake I made last night?! Well, it basically came down to it today -- go run and eat it or don't run and don't eat it.  So I ran.  And as I was running, I told myself "the faster you run, the faster you get to eat."  So I ran fast got to eat.  This is now the officially motivational affirmation I am getting stamped onto my metal shoelace pins -- "the faster you run the faster you get to eat".

I've always believed that food shouldn't be a reward for hard training or reaching goals, after all treats are for dogs and I for one am not a dog (though I must note I'd absolutely love to be one of mine).  Food isn't necessarily my reward as it is my motivation, my push out to door to go running and my push away from our cosy coal heater to do my boxing.

Today's motivation to go running was that protein packed pumpkin oatmeal bake with a double espresso and today's boxing and weight training motivation was an extra juicy, super spicy chicken breast with perfectly steamed broccoli and savoury wild rice.
