As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Packed Day of Grade A Goodness

While this may look like some absolutely gorgeous scenery to look at, it was definitely one thing to look at and another thing to go run in.
It was -7 outside but the temperatures were the least of my concerns, the potential of twisting my ankles and falling were.  As you can see, parts of the path around the Asan lake weren't shovelled and instead were either stomped down paths from those before us or stomped down because of us.

Despite the conditions however, we had committed to a run.
Here is our pre-long run picture.
And here's our post long run picture.
Today's long run was longer than last week's and definitely more pain-less than last week's too.  I had anticipated a slower pace due to the increase in intensity with the conditions but was very happy with our results.  There were several parts in the run where we struggled through the slippery conditions, even one part were I slipped and did a full 360, and we had some close encounters with too-close for comfort drivers on the one part of the path we veered off and ran on the road, it was a great run.

Then in the evening, after all the running and a much deserved nap, we held a Wine & Cake party.
I decked the juice bar area with candles and put out some wine I had...and of course the cake too.
We ended up with ended up going through about 9 bottles of wine.
The deal was I'd supply the cake, and what a very, very delish cake it was, if they brought the wine.
Most brought wine while others brought juice or some food, like sausages and a huge box of tangerines.

The evening consisted of lots of wine, lots of good people and lots of serious fun... hahaha.
We hadn't announced on our Facebook group page that we were having a party because we just thought we would just hang out with a few members, like we usually do after Saturday Free Train sessions.
But what started off with a few members was quick to escalate and our group size turned into 12.
Our Wine & Cake party had started off at 9pm and went till about 1:30am.  And in between the start of the party and the finish of it, I had received a most unexpected phone call from Thailand.  Having a large crew of solid people here to celebrate the news I received just made the night perfect for me.
