As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Happily In Love and Happily Silly

Took the day off work today to head out and celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
Jumped in our truck and off we went.  First stop, COEX Aquarium in Seoul.
As soon as we entered the aquarium, we were instantly surrounded by fish.
It's hard enough to find a public phone here in Korea but this one had fish in it.
And so much for Snickers grabbing a quick snack.  There were fish in the fridge too!
One fish here, one fish there.  Fish, fish, fishy fish everywhere!
I spy with my Polish eye, a hot Korean guy!!!... and more fishies...hahaha.
Finally some non-fish creatures -- bats, squirrels and even some cute chipmunks.
The little otters playing in the water were super hyper and super cute but trying to catch a clean picture of them as they spun around each other in the water was next to impossible.
...back to the fish and the hot Korean guy.
 Yellow lips... nice.
Snickers was particularly interested in watching the sharks.  They were very cool.
I apparently seemed more interested in watching him though... hahaha.
Only in Korea can a 30 year old grown man get away with pulling the kimchi fingers and making such a cute pose without being heckled... hahaha.
My favourite at the aquarium were the penguins and the massive turtles.
...well, them plus the hot Korean man I had come there with.
After our trip to the aquarium, we ventured out to this very cool but very old traditional Korean village where clearly only the well-off and rich can afford to live and where the streets are so narrow cars can't drive down.  I'm sure inside these traditional old style houses with their clay roofs and massive doors are modern interiors but walking down the village streets you can't help but feel like you've stepped back in time.
A walk around the "old town" was then followed by dinner at a hidden gem of a restaurant we just so happened to stumble upon -- a small steak house.
Honestly, we ordered the steak with no real expectations because most Korean restaurants just don't know how to make an honest to goodness decent steak but this place... woozers!  The steak was the size of my hand, about 3 inches thick and wasn't drowned in sauce.  Instead, it had no sauce on it, just herbs, and it was absolutely, without-a-doubt, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
And if the steak didn't capture your heart and make you instantly love this restaurant then the sheer coziness of it being super small did.  Notice here how our table is just feet away from where the chef is cooking, loved that!
This was just the perfect dinner for our wedding anniversary date so we toasted our marriage, made some promises to each other, and then basked in the moment.
...but the date didn't end there...
Dinner was followed by an unexpected treat -- a couple massage at a very swanky oriental spa where they treated us like a king and his queen.  The massage was a fine mix of pain and pleasure for an hour and a half and it left us feeling amazing (and jelly-like).
Arrived back at Hulk's after hours and I was happy to note it was in one piece and our pups were sleeping in the back doggie room.
