As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

King Kong to the Rescue... Wednesday, January 7

It's been an emotional day dealing with Ferrari and the strange and deranged drama that has unfolded as a result of trying to contact her owner.  I don't want to even get into that again or elaborate more, it's a pile of worms, so instead I will get into another story about today, a story of pure sweetness and smiles.

Today is January 7th, the day one and a half months ago my friend King Kong said he would make a special meal for me as today would mark one week before I was to leave for my title match in Laos.  Well, as you all know, my fight got postponed (is still on hold) so the dinner out at my friend's restaurant was cancelled.  But tonight that dinner happened and it happened in such an unexpected sweet fashion.  King Kong brought the dinner to our club, accompanied by his knife set and some side dishes. He had prepared everything needed to cook the meal and showed up with it.

King Kong is always such a fresh breath of air, he's always so smiley towards me and so giddy like a boy in a toy shop, so seeing him tonight was a much needed sight.  He smiles, I vent, he tells me something like "go punch him", the tension I sport is broken, and then I smile back.  He's a walking stress-reliever, like a free form of therapy, and no one can really be in a bad mood when King Kong is around.  And if his pudgy boyish face wasn't cute enough, the random "Amy, King Kong I love you?" he blurts out is ultra cute.
