As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

My Bucketlist for 2015... Thursday, January 1

1.  Every month send 4 pieces of snail mail.
Everyone loves getting mail, I love getting mail, but no one really sends mail anymore.  Emails are so convenient and text messages are so short but letters... snail mail... that takes effort.  I want to get back to putting more effort in staying connected with friends and family back in Canada.

2.  Run my first marathon under 4.5 hours.
My first marathon is April 20th in Suwon with Rocket and I worked it out that if I kept my pacing under 6:26min/km than I'm good to go.  These days my +15km long runs have been around the 5:25-30min/km pacing mark and my longest long run was a 31km run I did at 5:26min/km.  I personally think a goal of under 5 hours is more appropriate but this is the new year, this is 2015, and I'm feeling particularly optimistic about this year so I'm going to aim high for my first marathon.

3.  Earn Hulk's a new boxing ring.
Am already working on this via my Indiegogo campaign that I'll be launching later this week.  I'm super pumped about it because I really want to work on something without my Korean friends here having a big part in it.  None of them know enough English to really be able to understand it so it's all me running the show and me asking my friends and family back in Canada for help.

4.  Train Pacquiao to by my running partner.
This was on my bucketlist last year and, obviously, it never happened.  Pac has an amazing amount of energy and I really think a morning run with me would not only help him to burn off this excess energy but it'd also make the day in the back doggy's run more comfortable for him and the other two.  He wouldn't go stir crazy with all that bottled up energy, consequently he'd relax more and this in turn would mean both Pyen Chi and Balboa would be much more comfortable there with him too.

5.  Buy a new Korean study text, start and finish it.
I'm notorious for buying a new textbook and not seeing it through to the end -- again with the goldfish attention span I have with certain things.  This year I want to fully complete a study text.  These days I find there isn't so much of a demand on me to improve my Korean at work because many of our members are quickly picking up English but I would love to improve it for the sake of better communicating with sponsors and the parents of our mini Hulkies.

6.  Participate in Sparring Day.
Snickers and I spar on Sundays but it'd be nice to take it to a whole other letter and let members spar with me or have Snickers and I spar for them to watch.  The idea behind me not sparring with members was because many of them was to protect me from getting injured.  Many of them fight wild, like Wow, and I can't risk getting injured for the sake of a member getting experience in the ring.  Snickers is our best boxer here and there is never a doubt in my mind as to whether or not he can protect himself and come out unharmed.

7.  Take a championship belt to Canada.
This bucketlist item is a hard one; it's a three-parter.  I'd have to first fight to win a championship title belt, then I'd have to save up the money to fly to Canada, and then I'd have to find the appropriate time to even make the journey and break from work.

8.  Get professional fitness pictures done.
I had some professional fitness shots done a few years ago but I really need to get updated ones for any future advertising and for my future fights.  The last boxing pose shot I got done the photographer photo shopped my belly button out of the picture so, ya, definitely need to get new ones done

9.  Start coaching boxing more, not just Crossfit.
I do train many of the mini Hulkies in boxing but I've more or less have become the main coach for weight training and Crossfit.  This kind of just happened.  Many of the members are either bigger than me or taller than me and so my shoulders were taking a beating from doing padwork with members.  Me limiting my boxing coaching to just that of members shorter and smaller than me meant I then only trained the mini Hulkies in boxing.  Not anymore.  My shoulders are still going to take a beating but considering it's just Snickers and I running the club here, he definitely needs help with taking on the padwork for all our members.
