As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Starting Off 2015 with High Hopes and on a Sweaty Note

Our first couple shot of 2015.... we're super cold but super happy for the new year.
Enjoyed our yearly New Year's Day dinner out.  Today we went for shabu-shabu.

Dinner was followed by us doing what we do every single year on New Year's day,
we write out our new year resolutions/bucketlist.
I tried to encourage Snickers to seriously think hard, no more making a list and not getting any of them checked off.  He was too distracted with his delish Hawaiian milk coffee but he did end up writing down nine solid bucketlist items.
This was our bucketlists for 2014.  Amy 1, Snickers 0... both are equally brutal.
Today we both wrote down 9 bucketlist items for this year.
It took us about an hour to think of our lists.
Later in the evening, Snickers met up with his buddies while I stayed back at Hulk's.
We both took pictures of what we were doing at the exact same moment and then sent them to each other.  He was surrounded by two-legged friends in a heated pool hall and I as surrounded by four-legged friends in a cold boxing club.
Decided the best way to not only kick off my new year right but to stay warm was to exercise.
I didn't turn the massive heater on but instead I used it as a stand for my laptop.
I absolutely hate treadmill running but had promised myself I'd run through one episode of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition.
Watching a show while on the treadmill definitely helped and I stayed true to my promise.
The episode was 1:24 and that's how long I ran.  Ran 17.04kms in 1:24.

My pacing was an impressive 4:56min/km but then again I've always vouched treadmill running isn't real running so I wasn't impressed by that.  I was impressed though at the fact that I managed to stay running on it for so long.  My attention span on a treadmill is about that of a goldfish, 5 seconds.
