As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Injured but Still Able... Saturday, February 7

On account of my sore right knee (thanks to the crazy dog-taunting woman), a somewhat inflamed tendon in one of my hip flexors, and a hubby still on the road to recovery, today's weekly long run in the morning was a no go. Instead I stayed home, nursed my sore body, and babied my sick Snickers.

We had Free Train from 5-7pm tonight and some of the guys came out for it. I decided that despite the sore knee and tight hips that I'd do some boxing with them.  You see, rest days leave me rather antsy feeling, hence why taking the day off to rest didn't happen after all.

When I went to go check my messages after boxing I noticed I had received a particular message. Someone wanted to challenge me to a run but it wasn't just any kind of run, instead it was an opportunity to raise money for our Indiegogo campaign. The deal was he would donate $10 for every kilometer I ran but he had stated it had to be today. I couldn't rest up or carb-load in anticipation of doing any kind of long run, the expection was that I would have to just get up and go.  I think in him insisting I only had today to do it he was hoping I'd only go on a shorter run.

I gave myself a couple of hours after boxing before I headed out for this challenge run. One of our Hulkies had stayed behind after training to chat with me, I had two loads of laundry to wash and hang dry, plus I was expecting a phone call regarding the Nigerian boxing team.

Shortly after 10pm I finally got the chance to head out for the run.

I ran for exactly 2 hours, 28 minutes and 28 seconds, burned 1,487 calories and covered 26.05kms, earning me exactly $260.50 from the challenge posed to me tonight.
