As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Kicking Off A New Year for Me

Today was a very special day for me and every year I celebrate this day.
A wise friend once told me if life is all about living in the moment and moving forward than he's going to say "happy next year" to me so that's what I started doing a couple of years back.
So happy 11th year anniversary to me.  It may just be day one of year 11 but nonetheless it is year 11.
Today I celebrated the end of my 10th year here in Korea and the start of my 11th.
Day one of year eleven started with Rocket and I getting back on track with our marathon training and heading out for a run in the morning rain.
I then spent the rest of the day doing what I love most, boxing, weight training and coaching.

Hey, I'm confused. If this is day 1 of year 11, then yesterday was the tenth anniversary of your being in Korea. N'est-ce pas? Either way, it's six or seven more years than I lasted.

Toby in Saudi :)
