As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Drama in the Streets

What started off as just me yelling at two older Korean men to step away from our club's back steps turned into quite the scene and it got somewhat physical too.
I always seriously question the sanity of those who try to start a fight with boxers from a boxing club.  They know we bring endurance, skill, strength, and confidence to a fight, right?!

I'm not too sure if they realize that we come with backup also but tonight's two guys who tried to take me on got quite the surprise when not only Snickers showed up but so did so many of our members.
Then the cops showed up.
No charges, fines or whatnot were handed out despite having filmed most of the confrontation on film.  Instead, the cops gave the two drunk men a free ride home, Snickers had to fill out a report at the police station, and I had to manage the club by myself for a bit.
