As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Sipping with the Boys... Saturday, June

So I've started drinking, well kind of.

I drank last weekend and then again tonight.  Both times it was with the same person and partly because of the same person, and both times my drinks were rather expensive but this time my friend picked up the tab.  I think that brings this year's drink count to 6, the most I've ever had in only God knows what year, maybe since Canada.

White Russian, apparently that's a two shot drink and my small framed 54kg body gets buzzed off just one drink.  Tonight I came prepared, I ate beforehand and came with a tummy full of food... hahaha. But those dang salty pretzels at the bar get me every time.  They're the only salty thing I've eaten in a long, long time and they only burden me by making me thirstier.

I was offered a shot of super expensive whisky but was convinced just the smell of it would instantly grow hair on my chest.  Regardless, I took a sip and joked about the fact I think they just served me nail polish removal.  Sorry to insult the man who offered it to me but that stuff was nasty!

Apparently I'm all buddy-buddy now with the man I met just last week, the guy who so sadly lost his daughter last year.  I think he's really nice, very pleasant to talk to and I like the fact that he's not some young kid.  Perhaps I like it most that he greets me with a huge smile and in some way I feel like I'm helping him heal from the sad situation him and his family is struggling to get through.  I'm thinking about making this a weekly thing, or at least a bi-weekly thing, because it's nice chatting with him and it's great to run into some other local business owners that also hang out at Dolce.  Having said that though, I don't want to be indulging in two-shot drinks.  It's not going to help my waistline or my pocket book. I need a virgin something but a virgin something that doesn't include any kind of pop or fruity juice -- I hate pop and don't care for juice either.
