As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

An Overdose of Fabulously Supportive Friends

My day started off with a hot cappuccino extra shot with a warm friend.
And yes, I brought my own breakfast -- my delish 7 egg blueberry oatmeal bake.
Was pleasantly surprised by another friend who thought she'd be a sweetie by feeding my sweet tooth weakness.  She noted that if I didn't want to kill my clean eating too much that I could first open the small bag... nice.
Two more gal pals visited me today, to say hi and wish me all the best on my sabbatical.
One of them is a super busy mom and the other traveled 2.5hrs to Cheonan, how special do I feel... super duper, crazy special.  Thanks ladies!!!
In the evening this arrived for me from one of my ultra fierce female Hulkies
-- a beautiful white chocolate cake and ice latte.
And if my day wasn't already filled with an overdose of awesome friends, I got a Facebook message from one of my sister-in-laws in Canada who was messaging me with my three little nieces.  Snickers and I responded to their messages by making a cute picture for them.
Capped the entire day with an intense workout with two strong females.

Often members ask to join me on my workouts and almost always it's just female Hulkies that join me.  The girl on the left, Minji, she first came to Hulk's as a shy gal with average strength but now she is most definitely one of my strongest members, lifting more than most of the male Hulkies.  And the girl on the right, a new member who has already impressed many members with just how hard she trains.

One of the biggest things I'll miss about Korea is training with my female Hulkies.
I'm helping to build a stronger Korean female, one that beats down the age-old stereotypes that women are to be weak and submissive.  Our female Hulkies are by far the strongest females I've met in Korea and the confidence they're gaining with becoming stronger and healthier is just flat out awesome.  It's inspiring.
