As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Feeding the Potential by Keeping Options Opened and Many... Tuesday, July 21

Last night I received an unexpected visitor, a former Hulkie of mine who has since moved to Seoul and is now moving back to America.  She leaves tomorrow for the States.  Her visit came as I was cleaning up the club, getting ready to make my business calls to Canada regarding my own leave from Korea, my sabbatical.

Today I thought about many of the things we talked about and brought them up with some other Hulkies.  As she was probably way up high in the sky, flying over us on route to America, a particular male Hulkie and I sat on the corner of our club pool table, discussing the issue of potential and growth and my limitations here in Korea.

There's so much potential for me to grow in Canada and the more I dive into setting things up for my next year there the more potential arises.  One of the things I am looking forward to in Canada is getting involved with volunteer work.  I really want to make this next year all about my sports, health and fitness so working and training at a boxing club is exactly what I want to do but I'm also looking at volunteering too.  One boxing club that I've been asked to help lift off the ground is a new boxing club that has yet to been even made.  I saw a crowd funding post on a friend's Facebook page a while back and decided to email the man organizing it.  They are taking a current boxing club and looking to split it and open one up else where, possibly in my hometown or neighbouring city.  The primary focus of the club would be that of teens and kids.  It'll be a non profit organization directed towards giving youth a positive place to attach themselves to and get involved with.  It is very much in line with my thinking about Hulk's and our Mini Hulkies.  The club is set to start up in September but he's eagerly needing help and I'm very much interesting in volunteering there.  Extra cash would be nice, I need to pay my rent, but I think it'd be a great opportunity for me to get involved especially considering all I learnt in making my own club so I am interested in putting in some time there each week.  I feel like the Jack of all trades with opening a club and renovations so I think I can help plus it'd be super cool to play a hand in helping a fellow entrepreneur out!

Current boxing clubs I scheduled to meet with to discuss training and work:
1.  Atlas Boxing, Toronto
2.  Motor City Boxing, Oshawa
3.  Durham Boxing Academy, Ajax
4.  "Not-Yet-Named" Boxing Club, Whitby
5.  Center Ring Boxing, Toronto
