As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Training on a "Day Off"... Sunday, July 26

TODAY'S SCHEDULE:

11am -- Church
2pm -- 10km run
5pm -- Boxing and Weight Training

I pretty much killed myself running outside in that dang I-can't-believe-this-ain't-Togo heat and blazing sun so I needed a serious hour or two to recover from it and recharge my battery for my next training.  I ran, I returned, I showered, I ate, and then I flopped down on my side office couch.  I didn't get up until 4:40pm and that was only because I had officially announce Free Train at 5pm on our Hulk's Facebook page so I had to quickly get ready for that.

I boxed, I weight trained, I showered, I ate, and the I flopped down on my side office couch... again.

Correction, before I had the chance to shower I was visited by one of our long-time-no-see members who randomly drops by and who I consider myself close with.  He and I chatted for awhile and I let it known that I was leaving soon for Canada.  No sooner did we get into the details of that situation but then two more unexpected visitors showed up.  It was the manager of Dolce, a bar down the street, and one of his customers whom I had just met this past Friday late night.  It was definitely an unexpected visit but it was really sweet and really nice.  I'm always so proud when friends or even friends of friends drop by the club and so their interest in it.  Hulk's is my baby, I love it and I love sharing it with whomever walks in our club doors.  I gave them the grand tour and then we stood by the front juice bar area chatting about this and that.  They both wished me the best of luck for the adventure I'm about to jump into and then they left.

The rest of my evening was pretty much chill.  I pretty much did what I did yesterday, what I usually do late night when I'm home alone.  I kicked up my heels and listened to music and daydreamed about what's coming next.  When I'm not working or not working out, I try to be as lazy and as secluded as I can be.  I cherish my down time like none other because I don't really have a lot of free time.  The club is open from 2pm-12am five days a week but often we open on the weekends for Free Train and have a zillion and one errands to do for the club/sponsors, so the work never feels like it finishes.  There aren't many times when I turn work mode off but when I do and when I can, I definitely do.  I'm one lazy mofo when I'm off and I milk it for all it's worth because it doesn't come every day or in big doses.

Toronto is what's next and I think about it every single day, around the clock.
