As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Clubs and The Pain of Training

Not the best of pics, I know, but I snapped them right before I headed into these clubs for an interview with their head coach.  Today I had two meetings.
I was a bit discouraged after one of the meetings so I decided to use that as fuel to feed my evening workout -- boxing and weight training at Systems.
And I guess it was an overdose of fuel because this is what I did to my foot, I tore off two big chunks of skin off my foot.  I've been doing a lot of boxing at System but in bare feet.  The sole in my runners don't allow for a lot of flexibility and the price I paid for training in bare feet was this.  I already carry around a lot of training gear through out the day but today I brought along my boxing boots.  Better late than never, right?!
