As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

It's Been Go, Go, Go... Thursday, August 13

I've been here in Canada exactly a week and a day and in that time I have done the following:
Moved into an apartment.
Set up a Toronto cell phone number.
Found a new home church to attend.
Secured a job -- teaching BoxFit and doing personal training boxing lessons.
Secured a place to train at -- Paul Bown BoxFit, 661 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Secured two coaches -- Coach Brown and The Stick.
Signed for a fight -- December 5th, Edmonton.
Initially I had given myself two weeks to most of the above and a month for signing a fight.  I guess I really have Koreanized in that I have been go, go, go ever since I arrived.  I didn't waste time.  I know what I wanted and though I didn't know where I'd find it I knew I'd feel it in my gut when it was right.  Everything has fallen into place and it's been pretty awesome.

Add "got my own personal agent" to that above list.

I had to make an uncomfortable phone call to a particular boxing club, to tell them I won't be joining them, and in a discussion today the idea of me delegating some of my administration stuff to someone else was mentioned.  So now I have an agent.  He's a gorgeous former pro hockey player who is quite the smooth sales man naturally and now he does person training.  First thing on his list to do for me was call up this boxing club and break them the news.  It was such a relief for me, such a burden off my chest.  Feels pretty awesome to have some extra help with the business part of my sport.
Oh, and add "set up an interview with System".  I pretty much keep to myself at System when I train though I will note that I do have some fellow boxing enthusiasts join me in the private spinning room for training often.  In there there are two sandbags set up.  Plus there is the fact that there are various members still training at System from back in the day when I lived down the street from it and was training there full time.  Anyways, so apparently me training on the bags has gotten me some extra attention and one manager in particular has directed his attention towards me.  He is interested in me teaching boxercise classes at System.  I am extremely flattered but am not too sure if I will pursue it because System is kind of like my safe haven here now, it's where I go to just whale on the bags and focus on my weight training.  I kind of what to just keep it a place I can disconnect and train.  I've been approached about coming in for an interview about it but have yet to get back to him about.  I'll have to talk to my agent first.
