As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

My Gorgeous Girls... Saturday, August 8

Say hello to my beautiful little ladies -- my gorgeous nieces that I love to pieces!!!
Today we had the annual Bere Family summer BBQ and so of course my gorgeous gals came and I got to spend an overdose of time with them... it was fabulous!!!
My brother's life IS his girls and can you really blame him?!  They ooze with awesomeness.
I may not want my own kids but I am more than happy to be the "cool aunt".
I play that label proudly -- "Cool Auntie Amy" -- and I score extra cool points on account they're pretty proud their Auntie Amy is a pro boxer.
I think the cool points come from maybe not my profession but the fact that it means I'm strong and I carry them for hours and carry them all at once.  They love jumping all over me.
Little E showing me how to hula-hoop... she's awesome.
They're ALL awesome, that's no secret.

And they definitely share my silly funny bone.
Here they are all pretending the lakeside lawn ornaments are biting them.
After a long day and even after them realizing I'm here for an entire year, saying goodbye to them took a solid ten minutes.  Here they are coming after my car as my father and I drove away.
