As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Perk of the Job... Tuesday, August 18

As many know, I am a sponsored professional athlete.  This means that I get certain products and services offered to me for free -- training gear, dental work, food, etc. Now that I work at PB BoxFit however, there are additional perks I get, ones that come with having this new job.  Today I got the sweetest of sweet perks though. Today my perk of my job was a shopping trip with my coach.  Hello lululemon.

In an attempt to make a consistent image at his boxing club, Coach Brown takes each of his girls out shopping at lululemon for exercise pants and a top for them to wear when coaching.  Well, now I am one of his girls and thus shopping was a must...oh darn.  I've never actually have been to a lululemon store or seen an article of clothing to be able to understand the hype of it but I know it's very expensive and I know the CEO or someone high up there got back lash for saying their clothes "aren't for everybody".  Regardless, today I was going to be introduced to the wonderful (presumably) world of lululemon.  And yes, it was wonderful.

Together Coach Brown and I picked out these black striped pants and then the sales clerk asked me what size I am.  I'm not too familiar with Western sizes so he guessed my size and gave me one.  He held it up and instantly I question who the heck he had actually picked these pants out for.  They looked like kids sizes when he first held them up but I had to trust his judgement so into the change room I went to try them on.

They fit like a glove!!!  Now getting them off when I'm sweaty, well, that's going to be a whole other story.  They hug me in places that pants have never to hug me before and while many others have ranted and raved about how they lift up this and squeeze in that, I'd like to think my hard training means I don't require such "help".  None the less, they're sweet looking pants and I was more than happy to receive this awesome gift from my coach.  Having said this though, at $115 a pair, I would recommend the average person to use that money to get a gym membership so they don't need lulu's help.
