After boxing I took the time to go home, eat, shower, and then pass out. Woke up and then headed down to the lake.
I love, love, LOVE the lake and based on the flocks of people that head to it apparently it is loved by many. I really didn't do anything at the lake besides pet random dogs that walked up to me as I sat on a bench, listen to music, sip on a Timmies, and soak up the sun.
This is the life.
My life here in Canada -- my time, my money, and my energy -- all revolve around my training and I absolutely love it. I love being able to focus solely with undivided attention on making myself a stronger, better fighter. I spend most of my days either training, heading to or from training, or recovering and preparing for training (like preparing my post and pre-training meals, doing laundry, Freebreezing the heck out of my boxing boots).
I have it set up that I box in the early morning so that I can score some one-to-one time with Coach Brown and then give myself a big enough chunk of time to recover, shower, eat, possibly nap, and then head to weight training. At weight training, I start off with a solid 50mins of boxing -- skipping, shadow boxing and heavy bag work. I then go into weight training and do a solid, non-stop workout that lasts 35-45mins.
I sensed a potential cardio overload with all the boxing I am doing so half of my shadow boxing work is done with wrist weights on. It kills my arms and leaves my shoulders burning but it helps to up the intensity as well as get in some strength training in.
Today I taught a Boxfit class in the morning and then got in my own boxing. By the time I left the club it was coming up to noon and I had already been up for a solid six hours. I made it home and then to the beach for some public R&R on a public bench and then it was back to training mode.
