As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

From Sparring to Birthday Partying

Early morning sparring, that's how I kicked off yet another Friday.
Unlike previous weeks of sparring, this week I left completely frustrated.
I made a lot of the same mistakes that I've been trying so hard on correcting.  Both my sparring partner and Coach Brown were super encouraging, they always are, but it's so hard to stay focused and positive when my progress isn't going at the speed I want it to.
After sparring I was finally able to take out my corn rolls.
My hair looked like it had been attacked by a retro crimping iron and, if it weren't for the fact I knew just how much sweat I had sweated out during this week with these rolls in my hair, I would have kept my hair like this.  I love the 80's.
With my corn rolls out, hair washed, and me all dolled up, the Polish Princess and I headed out for a fun night out.  We were attending her friend's birthday.
Check out this birthday cake.  That's pretty awesome if you ask me.
The place where the party was held is actually a restaurant during the day but a club in the evening -- a salsa club.  I don't do salsa but a sweet friend of the Polish Princess was patient enough to give my two left feet a quick lesson.
