Okay, so perhaps both the Polish Princess and my boy J are both my ticket to a social life here in Canada, not just The P-P (Polish Princess). I should have noted that the other day. Anyways, today I met up with J and attended a work event for the company he works with. We met his coworkers downtown. Some of them had dressed up with the event, sporting old style dresses, head pieces and out dated looks. They looked good and some really went out of their way to dress according to tonight's event theme. The event we were attending was an escape game where you're divided into teams and have a time limit to solve various clues to "escape" the room. There were actors and actresses playing assigned characters in the storyline and part of solving the game was interacting with them.
Apparently this type of event is all the craze and there are numerous places that offer similar events. The theme of tonight's particular game was the early 1900's, so there were girls in flapper dresses and guys in suspenders. Other theme events held by this company include scarier ones like a butcher shop.
After the event, we headed to a neighbouring restaurant as a group, for dinner. As soon as we walked into the place there was a massive attack of yelling voices and cheers as all the wait staff, line cooks and workers greeted us. They did that for everyone that came in actually AND for everyone who left. Needless to say, it was a total bombardment of voices. Apparently that's their thing, yelling out to all the customers. It was hilarious but so loud.
