As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Going Full Force with Training... Wednesday, September 23

Stepped into the ring today to do a few rounds with Coach Brown to end my boxing for the day.  Slowly but surely I am become a lot more comfortable with stepping in the ring for sparring and am feeling more in control not only with my body but the mental process and my thibking during it.  I know this is a direct result of continual practice so I'm very pleased with my progress and so is Coach Brown.  Coach Brown worked me really hard today and was proud of my progress so he treated me out to breakfast.  That's kind of like the sign of him being happy with my hardwork, him treating me to breakfast.

After boxing, it was then off to System I raced for the 12pm kettlebell class.  I'm not really into fitness group classes to tell the truth, unless I am teaching them that is.  I'm also not into people being rude and lately there's been a particular trainer at System who has been attracted a group of rude people -- members who used to attend the group class she is now in charge of because of a fall out with the former trainer.  I don't like rude people more than I don't like group classes so I've started to attend her class after I saw online and heard from the manager what's been going on.

Today marked my second class with her and I still have a perma flex in my butt from the first class on Monday so I'm a fan.  The plan is to attend her class twice a week.  I don't know if attending her class on Friday after my sparring is best though so I might not come to that class.

Now that I've added the kettlebell class to my weekly workout schedule I am feeling somewhat overwhelmed with training.  I love working out, don't get me wrong, but right the question is how am I going to up the intensity of my training when I get closer to my fight if I am already training a full speed?
