To the Coach With the Ego,
First of all, I don't know you from a hole in the wall but know enough about what you were talking about to know your facts were way off. For starters, just because I am not training at your club does not give you the right to belittle my club and those working and/or training at it. You've never even been to my club so please understand you know nothing about it to be able to talk about it but do understand that this is your loss. Trash talking a place and the people whom you have never met doesn't impress me nor does it attract me to ever want to train with you. Furthermore, if you don't know the ranking of a particular boxer, don't assume and don't assume it must be low because you have never heard of them. I've never heard of you in the ring beyond the other day you shooting your mouth off in it.
And as for your fighter, as skilled as they are and as supportive of them as you apparently are, know their record and don't change it to fit your in-the-moment story. I think that only discredits them. Not only did I happen to know that particular opponent you slammed in our conversation but I was there in that particular country when your fighter traveled there to fight them. Side with me all you want about Korea's home advantage bs but don't warp the story. Your fighter didn't "cream their opponent" in the first round like you said they did nor did they win. Your fighter went down twice in the third round and lost. Does that make your boxer a terrible boxer? Of course not, definitely not, but it makes you a lier and considering all the labels a coach in my own personal experience wears, "lier" is not one I want ever want them to wear.
Acknowledge the losses, appreciate the wins, but stay humble and learn from every experience. Encourage your fighter, support them and brag about them, but don't be that bully kind of coach that puts down others in the industry to try to make yourself, your fighter and your club appear better. We're all in it for the love of boxing, just be fair about it and don't let your ego direct your story and change the facts. Thanks.
Signed One Boxer Who Just Lost Interest in Training with You,
Amy
