As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Stopped by Xtreme... Tuesday, September 8

I finally made the hike and got my Polish tush out to Xtreme Couture to visit my friend Doug.  Doug is the opener of System, where I currently weight train, but since I've left for Korea he has opened up two other gyms.  Xtreme out in the west end is one of them.  It is massive gym that has MMA, boxing, crossfit, yoga, spinning, as well as your usual fitness club stuff.  I've visited once before, over 6 years ago, so I was Kong overdue for another visit especially considering how generous Doug has been with letting me train for free at System.

I arrived at Xtreme around 4pm.  Doug was paged from him office and when he came out he greeted me with a huge hug and a good giggle.  It was great to see him again.  My anticipated 30 minute chat with him turned into a two and a half long deep, heart-felt chat and ended with me scoring an unexpected free membership to Xtreme.  The club is pretty far from where I live but it's definitely worth the trek out here once in awhile, to change up my training and gain more experience.

By the time I left Xtreme and reached System, it was late into the evening.  Got in a solid workout and then picked up some groceries.  Tomorrow is going to be brutal at boxing; Wednesday I do intense core conditioning and then about an hour of padwork with Coach Brown.  Getting home from training and groceries after 10pm wasn't the best decision of my behalf but I got in a solid day of training and finally got to meet up with Doug so it was a good day.
