Helped Coach Brown train one of his PT clients by stepping into the ring to do some offensive/defensive work with her. It was a kind of "surprise treat" he had for her but I felt like it was me who got the surprise because The Stick showed up during my training. He stood ringside and watched us do the assigned exercise and I'll be the first to admit it was a bit nerve-racking. The added pressure was good though. I am really trying to get used to being out of my comfort zone.
"Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable", was the advice I told one of our members the other day and then here I was today having to practice what I preach. No pressure. It was really good though. I really focused in on the pointers Coach Brown had given me this week and so when I stepped out of the ring from our match-boxing exercise The Stick spoke up to Coach Brown and said I looked a lot better than last week. Coach Brown added that my footwork and head movement were a lot better too. Packed those positive feedback comments in my brain, knowing that they don't come often and I'm going to need to remind me of them on those extra tough days that leave me frustrated and discouraged.
This Saturday MisFit Island is hosting a launch party at the Bovine and I've been asked to attend. They're down at the FanExpo that starts today, promoting their current stuff and giving the crowd a sneak preview of what's to come; I'm what's to come, the comic book about me so after boxing I had to drop off stuff for their stand. This Saturday they will be doing a media interview with me at their party and later it will be posted on their online site for all to see. I talked to Coach Brown about the launch party and he is going to attend it with me so that's awesome. Am hoping more of my friends show up because this is kind of a big deal to me. I think it is just so cool that they're turning my lofe into a comic book; it's fantastically awesome.
In addition to dropping stuff off for the FanExpo stand, I headed off to Whitby to get my hair done by my oh so talented friend. Am convinced she is so in sync with what works with my hair, what I want, and what looks good for me. Today marked the third time she has done my hair and the third time I have been more than satisfied with it.
Met up with a long time no see friend from back in the day who wants me to personal train her. It was so great to catch up with her, chat and giggle over coffee, and get a better understanding of where she is and where she wants to go. I am very optimistic about helping her out and I know she really wants this. I think that is key, she wants it. So many people prior to her have asked me for help and I have tried but I haven't really helped them because you can't help someone who doesn't want help. Many say they want help but they really don't and it's just a waste of my time, energy and patience, and quite frankly it's insulting.
After my hair appointment, lunch with my dad, and my coffee meeting with my friend, I returned to Toronto.
