As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Working it Out... Wednesday, October 28

I was not in a good mood today, woozers was that ever so true.  I was in a funk much lower and stronger than my usual funks. It was an Ice Cream Wednesday but even the thought of ice cream didn't work cheer this Polack up.  I was in a funk of all funks.

I've been here in Canada almost 3 months now but really haven't searched out my potential.

I've been trying hard to figure things out; I've decided that yes this move to Toronto is a new chapter in my life but perhaps it's more than just that.  It's not a new chapter, it's a whole new book.  My "earlier book" was set in Korea, taking place mainly at my boxing club and centering around my boxing with my various sponsors and teammates playing leading characters.  Many of members also played key roles in this story while others played supporting roles.

Now I'm in Toronto and I really want to change things up, end things, start things, and make a new me.

I want to make something but I'm not quite sure what yet.

Right now my days revolve around my training and I coach a few boxing classes.  I could win over some of my boxing class participants for one-to-one training but that's not where my interest lays, that's not my passion.  One-to-one clients are too intense for me.  Whether it's wanting to know what exactly to eat, detailed and mapped out training, or follow-ups, it's not fun for me.  I don't want paper work and I don't want that kind of responsibility.  At Hulk's I really focused in on our mini Hulkies because not only could I get creative and silly with their workouts but at that level it was still all about having fun as opposed to being so result-focused.  Kids don't really view exercise as exercise. If it's fun to them than it's just fun; it's not exercise.  I'd love to make some kind of after school athletic program or be a part of a drop-in sports center or a nonprofit organization that deals with athletics and heath.

Another idea I'm pondering is getting involved with some kind of women's right or women-only organization, like VAW (Violence Against Women) and the women-only boxing club Newsroom Girls.

I'm looking to either make or get involved with something that I can be passionate about as well as creative and really enjoy it.  I want a job here with purpose.
