Second time sparring this week -- 12 rounds today with Queen Spar.
The irony here is with our shirts. We seem to both be pretty selective with what shirt we wear on sparring days. And while my shirt is a pretty pink with a positive message on it, her tank top has an intense skull on it... oh gosh... hahaha.
We went 12 rounds together and switched it up via fighting orthadox some rounds, southpaw other rounds, and focusing on specifics with other rounds.
In the end, I'm always grateful for the sparring experience this fighter has given me.
Not so grateful for the bloody nose she gave me though but it was my first ever boxing-related bloody nose so I guess if I'm going to get a bloody nose who better to give it to me than her.
In the late afternoon I headed uptown to meet up with an old friend of mine who is very connected in the boxing community. He met me right before I became a boxer and now he knows me as a full fledge boxer so tonight's dinner was cooked by him and what a boxer-appropriate meal it was!!! The broccoli was so soft, the sweet potato was delish and the chicken was spiced perfectly -- so delish!!!
And as if being cooked an amazing home cooked meal wasn't enough, when he dropped me off he surprised me with a gift -- a large photograph and glove signed by the notoriously known George Chuvalo, Canadian heavy weight champ who fought Ali twice!
