As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Cake Less Birthday... Saturday, January 30

You know you're spoiled when you show up for the birthday boy's birthday and he cooks YOU dinner.  Yup, that's exactly what happened tonight.  Now I'm no one to complain about getting free food but for him to cook his own birthday meal... wow... that's super sweet.  He is definitely way nicer than me.  There's no way on God's green Earth that I'd ever cook someone a meal on my birthday let alone cook my own birthday celebration meal.  I don't even cook for my friends on a regular day.

I showed up to tonight's birthday celebration with a gift I had pretty much trekked around Toronto trying to find and then later on I used my hook-ups to get our crew into a downtown club.  It was at the club though, while we were all having a good time and dancing that I realized something.  I had forgotten to buy him a birthday cake.

I'm terrible.

Eleven years of not really celebrating holidays like they should be has me forgetting some of the key components of them.  I can't believe I forgot a birthday cake!!!
