As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Feeling Rather Choked... Wednesday, February 10

I may or may not have been proposed a possible boxing sponsorship, but I can't write about that.

I may or may not have been proposed a possible career position, but I can't write about that too.

I may or may not have been proposed a possible way around having to get my Canadian boxing pro license, but I can't write about that either.

Lots to say but none of which I can talk about on account of the fact that the boxing community in Canada is as cooperative as it is competitive, and by community I'm referring to club vs. club here.  It's ironic that I used to tease the Cheonan Bulldog about wearing a short leash in Korea.  He had been my sparring partner for years at UP Boxing Club but as soon as I opened up Hulk's Boxing he feared being in pictures with me whenever he visited the club.  He was the one who wore the short leash but now I feel it is me who also wears a leash.  I vouch that mine isn't as short as his but it definitely comes with it's rules and restrictions regarding what and who I can be associated with.  My sponsors aren't the only ones anymore holding the handle of such leash though but now I feel it's choking my boxing career.
