As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Scheduled to See a Specialist... Tuesday, February 9

Yesterday I had to head out to Ajax to see my family doctor, to get my x-ray results.  And while people say I can't complain because Canada gives "free" health care, I've decided that quotes around free are much needed because of the time and money I've shilled out for such "free" health care appointments.

I really need to get a doctor referral; get a doctor out here in Toronto.

Yes... I'm well aware that such time and money for traveling to my family doctor is partly my fault, thanks.

Anyways, so I went last night to get my results because apparently the doctor can't tell them over the phone.  That's pretty ghetto is you ask me.  According to the results, I don't have a broken hand or even a fracture.  I did however fracture my hand a while back but apparently I had trained through the pain.  It's so typical of me to do that so both my doctor and I weren't surprised, just amused.

A break and a fracture have been ruled out but my doctor still doesn't know what is wrong with my hand so he is going to recommend me to go see a specialist-- an orthopedic.  Today I decided to take it upon myself and call around Toronto and search out a orthopedic doctor here in the city.

Sunnybrook Holland Orthopedic and Arthritic Centre.

Managed to sweet talk my way into getting an appointment for this Thursday after a discussion on the phone with their receptionist and a phone call with my family doctor.  My family doctor ended up faxing them a request and my x-ray results so I'm in... sweet!!!

I'm super optimistic and very eager about this appointment because I really need to figure out what's wrong with my hand.  I'd cross my fingers on this appointment if it didn't hurt to do so.
