As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Hard Start but a Very Sweet Ending

This is how my day started, me sitting at the boxing club at 5:35am waiting for one of my personal training boxing clients.  She arrived late, meaning I got to finish my ghetto mason jar coffee... nice.
This is how I spent a good chunk of my afternoon, training with the Mexican -- Coach Perez.
So far it's been really good training with him.  I like how he coaches me, he's got me on a set routine and expected exercise and drills when we train.  And as a boxer, I really like his style because he's got mad speed and excels in areas I lack so I know I can learn a lot from him.
I made it officially known on social media today via Facebook and Instagram that I'm training with a new coach.  Ironically it's my now ex-coach who noted the other day that I looked like I've trimmed up.  I told him I've been running more but honestly it's because Coach Perez has been really pushing me at training.  It's hard but it feels so good to be back training hard.  I have a lot of self motivation and I can push myself but it's so great to know that I have someone in my corner that pushes me hard too.
And this is how I spent my evening, with a high school friend of mine.
We celebrated Happy Ice Cream Wednesday together.
When I first came back to Canada he was the first friend I celebrated HIC Wednesday with but that was out in Whitby.  Today he came to Toronto to see me.
My buddy can't even eat ice cream actually, he's lactose intolerant but he came for ice cream regardless.  How sweet of a friend is he?!  Oh so very sweet.  Perhaps even sweater than the ice cream and that's pretty sweet!!!
After ice cream we went for a walk down Bloor street and I treated him to hodu kwaja -- a walnut cake that my hometown of Cheonan in Korea is very famous for.
We never went so far as to totally splurge and eat some hoduck -- a Korean pancake that has cinnamon and sugar in it.  It's pure delish but pretty much pure sugar!
On our walk we ended up stumbling onto this place -- an indoor rock climbing Heaven.
I definitely want to come back here with my friends... for sure!!!
