As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Nothing Usual But Lots of Boxing Still... Friday, March 11

No 12 rounds of Friday morning sparring.
No extra training and sparring at the Friday night Fight Club.
No weight training at System either.

...but I was super busy nonetheless and I did get in some training, just not at PBB or System.

I attended the press conference for The Tribute, a 50th year anniversary event for the Mohammad Ali vs George Chuvalo fight.  I had been asked by a particular boxing club if I'd like to join it with them and was quick to jump in and head out to it with them.  The event is being hosted by Global Legacy Boxing so today's press conference was being held at their downtown head office.  I wasn't the only pro boxer in attendance.  There was a packed room of noteworthy professional boxers including Lennox Lewis and George Chuvalo.  I got a chance to talk to various people within the boxing community, not only fellow pro fighters but also club owners/managers, coaches, and various photographers.  CTV and Global were two of the several TV crews there filming the event.

Spent a good chunk of my afternoon, after the press conference, downtown in the Mexican's condo chatting it up with him about boxing, my boxing career, my life in Korea, and so forth.

As for my evening, I headed out east for two of hours of training with a new crew and a coach I have yet to train with before.  I entered their club and was greeted by a solid group of boxers that ranged from super green to hardcore focused on fighting.  Their coach is well aware of who I am from the person who invited me out tonight to train so he knew to push me hard and expect a lot.  I swear there wasn't a dry person in that club after our training.  The energy was awesome, the fellow boxers were super nice to me and very encouraging, and even the coach gave me good feedback after training.  I appreciated the feedback especially since it was somewhat unexpected and detailed.  I had left my house for training at 6:40pm and arrived back home close to 10pm, drenched in sweat, super smelly and ultra exhausted but very happy.
