As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

The Ghetto Fabulousness and Colourful Character of my Hood

My buddies all say I live in the ghetto but I say it's just got "colourful character".  I like where I live and I think they really try to make a community here, those who live in it.
This shot is of the bulletin board in my building's laundry room.
It's always loaded with event notices and things to get involved in.
Having said this, it also always has notices like this too -- warning notices telling us who to be on the look out for.  Apparently there has been some robberies in our building.

Other ghettoness that has gone down in my hood....
Last summer one resident killed his gay lover and left the body in the parking lot.
Random stabbing at the subway station, located at the end of my street.
Double staving that left over half of my street police taped off for several hours.
Dude on the 2nd floor sits outside on his balcony, all day every day, and watches people.
I almost got robbed right outside of my building's front door.  Lost my TTC pass in the whole ordeal when I pushed the guy away from me.
I've seen some residents bring their scooters in the elevator, up to their apartment.
I intercepted a physical situation involving a girl and a sketchy big dude.
Rumored arsenal fire in the next building that brought 3 fire trucks loaded with firemen.
