As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Cottage Bound for Some Disconnection

Despite wearing makeup, you can see my shiner from yesterday's sparring.
Shhhh.... that's because I refused to put makeup on it.  For starters, wearing makeup on it will only aggitate it when putting it on and taking it off,...plus I proudly wear my "battle wounds".
After morning running, I was picked up by a friend and together we and Balboa headed out to cottage country to see some beautiful friends of ours, Team MaG -- a couple I've known since university and whom I always stay with when I visit Canada.
My friend absolutely loved, loved, LOOOOVED Balboa and seriously couldn't hug him enough.  Now her hugs are pretty golden so enter all us with envious faces here.
Tried to sneak a shot of our crew but some cutie in the corner spotted my move.
Whenever I get together with these friends there is always lots of food and lots of drinks which made it hard because I'm cutting weight for my fight.  There was chicken, fish, pork, sausages, salad.... plus a fluffy, oh-so-tempting lemon meringue pie got passed around!!!
Team MaG's cottage is super cute but this takes the prize for cutest -- a double-seater outhouse that actually has tile flooring in it.  How posh is that for cottage life?!
There are three houses on the property -- a main house and two smaller suites.
The best one in my opinion is the little suite located at the end of this long metal walkway.  It looks out onto the lake and is super cozy.
I love this picture of these two.  I love them both.

After some "girl talk" down by the lake, it was back to the table with the rest of the crew.
After some good giggles by the campfire, it was back to Toronto for my friend and I.
The others stayed here for the night, I think most of them are staying into the week actually, but I've got training tomorrow so I had to go.  I'll be back though, for sure!!!
