As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Training and Then Disconnecting... Saturday, May 21

I'm itching for some disconnection from my fight prep, a means of just shutting off the boxing for even just an hour or two, so that I can breath and relax.

A trip to the cottage for the afternoon, that was the answer I was fed.

So a trip to a friend's cottage is exactly what I did today.

I had running in the morning today but not with Coach Madman, he was in Montreal.  I had running with Coach Perez, down by the lake shore.  The scenic view was beautiful but when we did those sprints honestly nothing mattered except pushing yourself through it so that you could get them done and get to breath again.

After road work down by the lake, I met up with someone for brunch.  He says brunch but I argued it was lunch.  Brunch is between breakfast and lunch time; we met up at noon so that was clearly lunch.  Brunch or lunch, whatever you want to call it, it was awesome... and the food was great too, wink, wink.

Roadwork, brunch/lunch, and then off to the cottage.
