As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Last Day to Prep for Mexico... Tuesday, May 31

At exactly 9:29pm I received screen shot of the flight itinerary from the promotion company who signed me a fight for Mexico, LC Promotions.

I'm scheduled to leave at 9:15am tomorrow.  A little more, just barely, than 12 hours notice.  Welcome to the wonderful world of boxing, a world of spontaneous things and organised ciaos.  I can't complain though; it makes for an interesting life being involved in it.

Today marked my last day training with Coach Perez before my fight and I knew that going into training today.  He told me yesterday "all the hard stuff is over" and he was right.  He's trained me hard and I'm confident in what he's taught me and my development.  Am I ready for this fight? Yes and no.  I don't think more time will help me, I'm mentally exhausted being consumed by thoughts of this fight, but I'd be a cocky idiot if I said I didn't have more I could improve upon.

When I picked up my uniform after the printers worked on it, I got butterflies and got all super giddy at the sight of it.  I know in a few days I'll be standing in front of so many people, wearing this as they introduce me and I make my way towards the ring.

Now to figure out what the heck I'm going to wear for weigh-in.  Do I sport a risky look -- panties and a bra -- or do I go for a more sporty look and simply wear my leggings and tank top, show how confident I am with not needing to peel back the layers for weigh-in.  I think I might sport my Lulu lemon high waisted pants and my fight uniform crop top.  That way when they take pictures my name will be captured in the shot.

I feel confident about this fight, I feel ready, but I also wish I had Coach Perez going there with me.  It'd mean so much to me to step out of the ring and have a familiar face, a face of someone who has become very important to me, standing ringside.  I didn't have anyone in Thailand when I was there to fight and that was rough.  It made for a sad victory celebration after because everyone I loved was miles away.

I doubt I'll be updating my homepage until I come back though I must admit I don't exactly know when that will be.  I'll be back soon enough.  I've agreed to help Coach Perez bring back his dog and so I'll be travelling back with a four-legged companion.  I think me getting Balboa sent here from Korea was the pushing factor to him deciding to bring his dog.  None the less, I think it's awesome and I'm all for four-legged love.  So until I return to Canada here, hope you all have a great day, don't forget to cheer for me from where ever you are and send me your good vibes for a safe, fair fight this Friday.  Much appreciated, thank you, and I'll write when I come back.
