As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

What was suppose to be me simply going home after Girls Nite Out turned into quite the unexpected eventful part of my day with me meeting a ton of random strangers. Ginger Spice and I had decked into a pizza shop for a slice each (because I am always hungry, of course) and that's when the night started turn.  A guy sitting down with his buddies had asked me if he gave me money would I get him a slice.  I told him that if he paid for my slice too I would.  And just like that I scored free pizza and a new friend. He has since has added me on Instagram.

Ginger Spice and I took our pizza outside and looked for a random step to sit on.  Bingo, found a step.  Sat down to eat but then was continually interrupted by random strangers walking by.  I was hugged, leaned against, smiled at, joked with, and chatted with by more people than I can even remember.  I don't recall Canadians being this friendly but I guess after last call on a Friday night everyone is in a good mood.  I was called beautiful, complimented on my hair, asked if I would share my pizza, and asked if I was a lesbian... nice.  No, I'm definitely not into chicks.  The short hair and tatts confuses people at times, I know.  Anyways, I'm convinced that Ginger Spice and I are going to have to set up a secret camera to film all the attention we got from strangers today.  It was just too funny but also very sweet and very reassuring.  Toronto is simply a fascinating city, filled to the brim with amazing people and everyone is so friendly here, I love it.

Ended up meeting a super sweet young gal, a student, while waiting for my bus at King and Parliment.  I had just got off the streetcar when I noticed her standing there alone.  I was relieved to know I wasn't there alone not that I think Toronto is dangerous but it's definitely not Korea.  Anyways, we got talking and she has since added me on Instagram too.

The streets of Toronto and Instagram, who would have known?! Stranger things have happened.

I got home well after 3am.
