As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

I Heart Mexico... Sunday, July 5

I was given quite the grand tour by my Mexican crew here, God bless their amazing souls.  They're fantastic, seriously. A flight to Mexico is super cheap...definitely coming back even if it's just to visit the crew I stayed with.  I never fail to meet amazing people, seriously.  I don't know if it's the vibe I give off that attracts them or what but those I have met here in Mexico and the crew that's taken responsibility for me while I stay here, they're just so awesome.  I don't know if I could ever fully express how thankful I am for them but I'm trying.  I'm helping with cleaning the house, like tending to the kitchen and doing the dishes, and am always sure to spend time with them but it doesn't add up to all they've done for me.

I am blessed to be here in Mexico, I know it but the struggle to get a ticket home so I can resume what I have to do here is somewhat clouding this notion in my head.

I've now traveled to six countries because of boxing -- Korea, Canada, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, and Mexico.  Boxing has been my ticket to these countries and out of the 6 of them I have had the amazing opportunity to fight in 4 of them.

Korea -- turned pro there, fought, and then opened up my own boxing club
Canada -- boxing was my return ticket via scoring a one year sponsorship to train here
Japan -- fought there
Philippines -- Snickers fought there but I acted as the translator for him and a Japan fighter
Thailand -- fought there
Mexico -- fought there

I am blessed.  I've been blessed and I will continue to be blessed as long as I remain humble and grateful.
