As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Mexico's Ticket Still Unknown... Thursday, June 9

I've been back in Canada one full day now and my Facebook friends' list has been going crazy ever since.  I had anticipated my fight in Mexico to be the key that opens the next door in my life, a ticket to what's next, but I wasn't anticipating loosing.  Regardless, the response I've been getting from friends, fans and very new fans has been pretty awesome.  I average 50-70 Facebook friend invites a day and while I used to only accept those invites belonging to people I actually know, I've started to accept all.  Am busy branding myself and building a fan base so the more the merrier, right? Right.  I came to Canada with 1,200 Facebook friends but now it's up to 3,000 with  the hype of my Mexico fight bringing me an additional 1,000.  I accept the friend invites and then invite them to like my Dead Aim Amy Facebook fan page.  For the most part, many of them have been accepting my fan page like invite but then there are those who have taken upon themselves to private message me.  I can't keep up with responding to all the private messages, seriously.  I'm averaging about 20 a day from different people, most of which don't even live in Canada, most of which live in Mexico.  And then there of course the response messages to my response messages, no sooner after trying to respond to their messages.  I can't keep up with the messages but thank God for Google translate.  I went from writing in Korean to my Korean fans, English for my English fans, but now I'm adding Spanish for my new fans.

It's hard to see what's next though for me.  I knew this Mexico fight would open doors but now I'm not too sure on what these doors are.  I know enough to not use this fight as a lead in to what's next.  But what's next?!  Not sure yet.  I've been picking my brain about it and have so many ideas.  Too many ideas actually.  It's a bit overbearing at times.

I got an email from a good friend, a friend who has been incredibly supportive of me and my boxing ever since I started back in the day, back when I was a university student.  He's actually the one who introduced me to my first coach, silver medalist Egerton Marcus.  This is what he wrote to me:

You know Amy, it's no mistake why people want to be your friend on Facebook or elsewhere.  Not only are you a hottie, but you have a magnetic personality.  People want to be around you and help you if you need it.  Not just anyone has this quality, but you can use it to build something for yourself in terms of a business.
Look, you've boxed pro and have had something like 10 pro fights, but you did that with pretty much zero amateur experience.  Nobody in boxing does that, usually you train years and years as an amateur and perfect yourself in the pros.  You never had that opportunity, so here you are travelling to Mexico on your own learning on the job.
Boxing is the toughest of tough sports, you don't need to be a pro fighter to be great, but you can build off of your experience.
I said to you before with regards to the fitness industry, it's massive.  You could piggy back on your pro career and turn into a fitness guru. Posting YouTube videos, keeping up to date with your blog, and then eventually selling fitness routines, books in motivation and so forth.
You really can do it.
Your love of boxing is evident, but even the girl you boxed, you don't know her background.  I saw her last name, 'Castillo'.  Did you know that one of the greatest boxers from Mexico of all time last name was Castillo.  Was it any relation?  His daughter?  This is what you're up against...years and years of history.
Your quality is you and you can certainly one day profit from it in a big way!
