As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Screening out the Psyhco From the Sweet... Saturday, July 2

"These library people are f'ing with you.  They don't want you to learn.  They want you to stay a dumb jock" says Ginger Spice.

This was by far the funniest thing I heard today, oh.my.gosh!!!

I had met up with Ginger Spice for some pre-workout caffeine and asked her about getting a library card.  I still don't have one, crazy.  I went the other day to the library and the librarian who had clearly been interrupted during her lunch to work the counter and wanted everyone to know gave me this massive set of death eyes when I approached her.  I asked her what I needed to get a library card and she gave me this long song and dance which I knew was clearly not the real answer but her lashing out at me because she was hangry.

Yes, she was one hangry librarian.  I'm not a dumb jock though... we ladies prefer "jockette"... hahaha.  Just joking. I'm not a dumb athlete.

Dumb would be answering text messages from dudes buzzing my cellphone.

Yes, that would be dumb.

Why answer such perverted and annoying text messages when you've got a gorgeous friend who is amused by them and offers to answer them?!  Exactly.  I'm glad she finds entertainment in them because I don't.

Sometimes I let my friends answer my text messages on my phone, that's when they're from guys I really don't care to ever in a thousand years hear back from them.  I met this one particular guy back in December and still to this day he sends me random pictures of himself training and in what I can only imagine are poses he thinks are sexy.  Clearly what I think is sexy and what he thinks is sexy are two totally different things.  A guy in red leather booty shorts may be cool among my gay guy friends but unless you're into other men or are looking to step onto the stage, no one wants to see that.  At first glance I honestly thought it was either a joke or body paint.  I will NEVER be attracted to a man who wears tight, red leather, booty shorts.  Mark my words!!!  Call me old fashion but I don't like guys who leave you questioning their sexuality and sanity.

So ya, sometimes I just hand over my cellphone and throw my hands up in defeat when it comes to some of the text messages I've been getting.

And don't even start me on those who have taken it one step further by searching out my Korean number and messaging me on WhatsApp.

Having said this though, I always answer my fan mail.  Let me rephrase that.  I always answer my Facebook fan mail.  No one touches it but me.  These days I find answering my fan mail while on the spinning bike at System to be the best situation for me.  I spin at the end of my weight training usually, to loosen up my legs and get in a bit of extra cardio before I head home.  But being that I've been training leading up to spinning and training at a place buzzing with friends and good vibes, I'm in a super good mood when I'm spinning.  My endorphins have been triggered.  However, because I'm on a bike and sweating, I can't exactly type on my phone so I tend to leave short voice messages for fans.

Fan mail has been getting a little ridiculous lately.  I'm thinking about going old school -- going back to snail mail.  I want to get a P.O. Box for fans to write to me because the problem with Facebook fan mail is that it's not so much fan mail as it is fan conversations.  No sooner to I respond to a question or comment from a fan but then they write back.  Times this by the 20-35 that message me on an average day and ya, it's a bit overbearing.  Those 20-35 messages get responded to and then are followed up with more messages, doubling my writing and then tripling it... some just don't stop.  I'm flattered to have fans and don't think I'm deserving of all the awesomeness and positive vibes they said my way but I don't think they understand just how many of them are writing just like them, in conversations and throughout the day.  I know going to snail mail won't solve this issue and will probably just make more work with me having to buy stamps, paper and envelops and then having to mail them but there's also a different feel that comes with snail mail.  Emailing is so simple and I find it rather thoughtless, effortless, but to sit down and write an actual letter by hand, now that takes effort and I like that.

Snail mail it is.  Now to set up at P.O. Box.
