As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Not on Time and Not Fully Clothed... Friday, September 30

I manage the female-only club from 6:30am till noon which means I get there shortly after 6:10am to open and set up.  And then I teach a Pilates class at 7:30am.

I woke up at 7:25am today.

I arrived at the club exactly 13 minutes later.

In between waking up and arriving, I must have said every bad Korean word in my head as I grabbed my bag and sprinted out the door.  I ran out into the back parking lot, totally hurdled the wall, flew down the street like a bat out of Hell, and jumped into a taxi down by Gerrard Street.

I between waking up and arriving, I forgot to put a shirt on.

After opening the gym, I turned on all the lights, the music and the tvs, I then ran out to put the two ad signs out in the street and then I grabbed a Timmies from the coffee shop.  Arrived back at the club to a handful of giggling ladies who then pointed it out to me that in my haste I had only put on leggings, a sports bra and a sweater.  Classy, real classy Amy.

I knew my boss would be ticked at me for being late today, I was ticked enough for the both of us, but I'd have to bite the bullet and take the heat.  Not sure if I'll tell him I showed up half naked or not, he'll either find that super funny or make me look more irresponsible.  I don't know.  What I did know was that I had to put on my best game and bust my butt to make up waking up so late.  I had actually waken up early, at 5am like I had planned.  What I didn't plan though was sitting back down and passing out; that was the problem.  I've never been so late for work, wow.
