As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Setting Things Up... Sunday, November 26

Weekday or weekend, it doesn't matter.  I grind on the daily so it was no surprise for me to be working on Empowered late into the evening.  It had been a long day -- church, market, boxing, functional weight training, and studying Tagalog, but I have high expectations for big things this week so today I continued to work on setting it all up.

This week I should be receiving some custom-made gloves made exclusively for Empowered by a potential new supplier in Pakistan.  Tomorrow Coach Farah and I are hosting our biggest Empowered boot camp yet, a 30-40 participant boot camp at the Philippines Women's University.  It's a pro-bono event we're hosting but the idea is to use it to further familiarise the Philippines with our name, our company, and use it to initiate other large-scale boot camps.  On Tuesday we'll be meeting up with a new real estate broker to check out some available spaces and I'm hoping to officially file Empowered's corporate papers this week.  Next weekend I'm aiming to launch a teaser ad for the boxing class I'll be hosting for Empowered at a neighbouring boxing club.  Am just finalizing details with that.

Big things... big expectations for this week (but that's nothing new... right?! Right).
